Here’s how it works…
When a child accompanying a Passholder reaches 0.9M (90cm) they will require a Merlin Annual Pass to enter our attractions - regardless of their age.
But isn’t the height guide just for theme parks?
Because there are different types of child tickets depending on whether you’re visiting a theme park or Gateway attraction (like SEA LIFE and the London Eye), we’ve made things simpler for Merlin Annual Passholders.
If your child is under 0.9M they do not require a Merlin Annual Pass, and they will be able to obtain a free child ticket – no matter the attraction you’re visiting.
Once your child reaches 0.9M (no matter their age) they will require a Merlin Annual Pass. (Did you know that Passholders can purchase a Pass for their children using their renewal rate? Find out more here.)
What if my child is over 2 but under 0.9M?
In that case, your child will not yet need a Merlin Annual Pass and will be able to enter with a free child ticket.

The perks & benefits value is an average value, calculated as the retail value of each perk multiplied by its average usage. Of course, it would not be possible for us to communicate an exact value per perk, as many of these are dependent on how much you use your Pass and redeem your perks!
No, with a Merlin Annual Pass, once you have purchased (or signed up to a rolling monthly payment) you do not need to pay anything else to access attractions, simply pre-book and scan your Pass on entry to enjoy your day out! Please note, some attractions do include upcharge attractions as part of the experience, especially seasonally for things like scare mazes and Santa's grotto. Please check the attraction websites for further details.

Validity of Eligible Passes
A standard new Gold or Platinum Merlin Annual Pass purchased outside the Promotional Period is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
Eligible Passes purchased during the Promotional Period will receive immediate access from the date of purchase and will remain valid until 31 December 2027.
For example, a qualifying Pass purchased on 15 September 2026 will be valid from 15 September 2026 until 31 December 2027.
No cash alternative, refund, credit or substitution will be offered in relation to the additional validity provided under this promotion.
Existing Passholders - Customers who currently hold, or previously held, a Merlin Annual Pass may still qualify for this promotion provided they are purchasing a new Gold or Platinum Merlin Annual Pass and the transaction is not processed as a renewal.
